Four days ago I read a story on Valleywag about Google’s “I’m Feeling Lucky” button costing them $110 million a year. I thought this was a very interesting story so I promptly submitted it to digg.com. To my disappointment the story only got 40 diggs.

Even after giving a few shouts to my friends the story still didn’t get popular. In my “What your friends dugg” feed I noticed that another similar story was made popular and got over 2000 diggs. When I followed the link I realized it linked to the same exact page on Valleywag.

From what I understood when you submitted a story on digg it checked the url, title, and description you submitted, and if it match exactly to a similar story it would flag and say something to the effect of : “Someone already submitted this story.” In this case I had submitted it two days previously. I know I’m just bitching, but this really made me sad. Kevin Rose dugg the story for Gods Sake!
